A number of partners in our city and store have been quarantined after travelling abroad. I’m working with a shift and our manager who is the stand in DM this week, they’re running around like crazy and my dumb green bean ass is just kinda... here? Just venting, I feel bad

This is tough stuff. Nobody asked for this. Everyone will need to rise to the occasion. Nobody can say exactly what that will look like. Do your best, be safe, consider others, think positive, prepare for the worst with a determination to make the best of it. This applies everywhere. Be well.

Your words are a good reminder for me. This was a week and a half. Customers were difficult and short. Anxiety levels high.

Sometimes anxiety can manifest in unexpected ways. I saw a lot of good stuff from guests and partners. I also saw tensions happen on both sides of the counter. We are all doing our best with a range issues, now including this novel challenge.

You can also decide to self quarantine if you want and starbucks can’t tell you no. If your manager tries to tell you that you have to come to work, it’s bullshit. My SM did that to me so I called my DM and he confirmed that nobody can force us to go to work right now if we feel unsafe.

That’s valid, I believe in my immune system though tbh. No one is confirmed sick where I live so I feel safe enough. It’s just hectic but I gotta get this bread 😩
