so frustrated with CV and the company’s response (self.starbucksbaristas)

it’s clear that we’re not closing and we’re not being prioritised not only as partners but also as individuals. my SM insists we won’t get sick if we wash our hands and don’t touch our face. we’re not permitted to use gloves at the drive thru even though I feel SO uncomfortable handling cash and card, but today when I wore a glove at DTO handling cash and card my coworkers made it clear that they thought it made things worse. partners in my store aren’t understanding the gravity of the situation, insisting we need to calm down and also that we are overreacting because “the flu kills more every year” (totally not true anymore but ok). I feel so defeated and I just want to quit without notice, this is f’d up. My state and county have both declared state of emergency and there’s no sign that our store (busiest in the district) is going to be slowing down at all. it’s sooooo fucked that Starbucks cares more about profit over people. I’m not shocked, but realising I really am just a disposable pawn to the company stings a little.

As far as wearing gloves in DT, there's nothing wrong with that. Matter of fact, it's a policy to wear gloves when you have a open hand wound, even if it's bandaged. You do what makes you feel safe, and call the PCC if you don't think your store is handling this correctly.

while im also annoyed about how everything is going the flu is still a serious issue as the cdc estimates that 56,000 people die from $1

right but right now the issue is the cdc predicts 200,000-1.7 million deaths in the US alone :/ $1

I agree with almost everything, but there have been 36,000 deaths since the start of March $1 and only 5,436 since this all started in January $1
