Some places do actually call the middle size a “regular” but why do some people assume every company does? If you’re not sure the name of the size, just say small, medium, or large (or if you want a trenta you could say extra large)

And then there are places that call their smallest size "regular". But I have been guilty of asking for a regular size, myself. I corrected right away, but habits die pretty hard.

Fact. At Wendy’s their regular is a small and is what comes with their combos. So one time when they asked me for a size and I said medium I got waaaay more drink and fries than I wanted haha

Had a customer ask for regular and then return it because, ‘there’s no way anyone could ever drink this much. When I ask for a regular at my local Starbucks, they give me a small.’

Made us make her a new one, not even pour her tea into a smaller cup.

Omg!!! I don’t get that as much working here but when I worked at Bruegger’s Bagels I got it a lot. It’s also confusing because when I worked at noodles and company their sizes were Small and Regular. 🙄

"A large."

"Ok, I have the venti, which is 24oz, or the trenta, which is 32oz. Which would you like?'

"What's the difference?"

"... One is 24oz, and the other is 32oz?"

"...... Are they the same price?"

" No... The bigger one costs more."
