Is this worth it? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I live next to an outbreak and my store still has an open lobby I feel very unsafe even going to work, as I have asthma and will most likely die if I contract the virus. Is there any way we can elect not to attend work during this time? If not, is it sound reason to lose my job and possibly free school over this? I see videos of Italy and China, and it looks much worse than people here in the US think it is. Did you know the published estimated deaths in the US is 1-8 million when covid-19 is over? Why are we still open. It won’t seem like there’s a problem until it’s too big of a problem. There’s nothing you can do to fight it, so why aren’t we trying to prevent it?? I’m very stressed about this and would appreciate any input at all, what are your guys’ thoughts on this?? Doesn’t help that corporate is working from home now, while we interact with hundreds of people a day

Act as if you got it and get quarantined

If your manager objects, call PCC and cite the CDC. And to answer your question, risking your literal life is not worth a degree. In a triage situation you have to sort living first, and the rest later.

No. It’s not worth it. Tell your SM you are protecting yourself and customers and staying home as recommended by then CDC. They need to close down and provide pay.
