I didn’t call out when I was showing symptoms because I was told I needed to come in and cover shifts. Now the whole store is shut down for 2 weeks because I got sick.

Did you get tested? Are any of your co-workers being forced to work at other locations?
WastingTime19941 points3y ago
They shut down our whole store and everyone has to quarantine for 2 weeks
Snugglypuss11 points3y ago
Absolutely. There is NOTHING they can do to reprimand us. Call out everyone. Call out. You have rights!

Feel free to call out and self quarantine, but catastrophe pay won’t apply (just for those who are more dependent on their paychecks). Our shift team is taking everything very seriously, but holding on as long as we can before shit hits the fan. I’m all for the rights of my fellow partners and acting on those rights but corporate will keep stores open for as long as they can and find coverage from anywhere.

Me and a SSV called out for opening shift tomorrow. Different SSV called out today. Trying to get my coworkers to call out as well. Good luck everyone.

Im in. I put my foot down and started my social distancing today, you guys can too.

Just popping in to remind everyone to record their calls, it’s SSV and SM job to find coverage not yours. Record when you talk to your Manager, Record calling in sick, Record calling partner services. Protect yourself and record. Thank you everyone be safe!

If I work tomorrow morning should I call the store today or contact my SM?

I'm unbelievably down for this. Isn't it fun to have to remind the corporation that you work for that you're a human being just like they are?

I think that's the best thing you can do. You're worth so much more than this company and nobody should make you think any differently.
lunaflect1 points3y ago
Everyone at my store is chomping at the bit to take hours from call-outs.
Harrabots1 points3y ago
FUCKING DO IT. All I've seen on this sub for the last 10 days is most of you complaining about how you're "scared and fear for your life" and then doing nothing about it.
When you're genuinely concerned, there are no excuses. You ppl could take this shit to court, what your bosses are doing to you is so freaking illegal. Instead of organising a strike, you've been here complaining every single day. It was about time!
gaayrat2 points3y ago
Organizing a nationwide strike amongst employees takes a little more than a couple days. People are upset but we also still have bills to pay. Nobody wants to be out a paycheck so that makes things complicated
Harrabots1 points3y ago
Excuses, excuses, excuses. I knew someone would play the "but I have bills to pay" card. Then your bills are on top of your healt.
