who is this benefitting? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by walloweeji
just got an update that our store hours are shorter and we’ll be taking in partners from the stores that closed. so now we lost half of our hours, get no compensation, and are still exposed to the virus- just for less of the day!

who does this benefit? oh right, the company and the customers.

Only for a little will it benefit. People will die, and Starbucks the brand will suffer.

That’s when we spread it like wildfire

What do they think is going to happen when everyone loses their jobs/hours/home? I’ll be the first to join in on the rioting lmao.

If you lose hours you'll be compensated. Atleast they said they would, we shall see.

they told us to use our vacation or sick time if we can’t work those ours or don’t wanna be at risk :/ we’d have to have the virus for crisis pay

"We have also decided to supplement partner pay with Catastrophe Pay when working partners experience a reduction in scheduled hours"

well I guess my district conveniently left that out and that’s why they relayed the message via text instead of an actual update from the company as a whole

Lil personal update.

SM pulled me aside today and told me my options.

1) continue to work. Hope all goes well. If we get shut down, 30 days catastrophe pay.

2) 2 weeks catastrophe pay, return to work. Then if store gets shut down after your return, you get 2 more weeks catastrophe pay.

3) 2 weeks catastrophe pay, don't return to work if the store is still open by going on a personal leave of absence, go on unemployment insurance.

The difference between 1&2 is 2 days.

So I'm not risking myself now, and chose option 2.
