My store is being closed tonight, this is my last shift for the foreseeable future, i cant even try to put a smile on my face as customers come in because coffee is much more precious then their own health.
My staff and myself are so defeated as were guessing we wont be paid for this leave.

I'm pretty friendly with customers because interacting with random people is kind of fun for me but yesterday I was just resentful to everyone that came in and decided it coffee was more important than my health.

Every time the drive thru pings I just find myself getting mad. Even if it's a regular, someone I look forward to seeing every day, it's like ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Go home! And if you come inside you're a thousand times worse!

Same, like I was in an ok mood, then I got to work and DT was sooooo busy, and I was pissy and not in the fucking mood to deal with people and their stupid fucking issues. Like these weren’t ground right, I need a new bag ground right. Gtfo. Use what you have and stay the fuck home

Cases and deaths in my area are ramping up and I can guarantee we're still going to be as busy as ever. People are going to make jokes about our lobby being semi-closed being an overreaction or be cutesy about the whole situation and I can't. I really can't. I'm trying so hard to bite my tongue, every day, but I'm about at my breaking point.

I think we as baristas are all at our breaking point. Like we are working like we are healthcare professionals during this pandemic. We SHOULD. NOT. BE. OPEN. This is the most insane thing I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been around since the 70’s and have lived in multiple states and through riots. Like come on. I can’t handle the people saying I NEED my coffee, you don’t, but if you do the gas stations are open still, they have to be, and idk how we can be classified as essential. It’s FUCKING COFFEE!!!

Call partner services, record your call. If it’s as bad as you say > apply to jobs, it might not be the best but amazon is hiring, and almost all grocery stores need night stockers. Lastly there is unemployment. Rest for an hour or so then get down to business. Don’t give up, and don’t forget those who closed their door on you in your time of need.

Go ahead and call, far as I know England has more humanity than the United States. If the answer is no, your path to applying to new jobs is very clearly the next step. Don’t be timid SB will throw you under a bus if they knew it would make them a dollar.
