“You are probably safer at starbucks than you are at home - My DM in regards to the Corona Virus (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by himynametopher
Apparently my district manager told one of my shifts that they are “safer at work than they are at home” they had the audacity to say this from their home because as a DM they can do all their meetings online. It is sickening how little this company cares about the well being of its employees...

I'd love to hear the reasoning behind this one....

Reasoning is: lying to you and lying to her boss help her earn big money for lousy work. How close am I?

you’re probably spot on

Is DM district manager? I’ve been out of the game for a little bit. But that’s incredibly irresponsible, they should get fired.

Also heard this from my DM. The logic is that since we are constantly washing our hands, dealing with chemicals, and using sanitizer solution we are cleaner than some households. Dunno how true it is when we come into contact with the virus though.

Remember on Game of Thrones when Cersei did the walk of shame? This DM deserves similar. Instead of rotten scraps of food, partners could throw random stuff from behind the counter at him/her.

And then science class for the DM.

DMs are hiding the truth. When an employee comes in contact with an infected or possibly infected person their response is to hide it!!! Unbelievable!!! Starbucks is making the spread of Coronavirus much worse and they say they are taking steps to slow the spread - far from it.

You can't clean the air? It stays in the air after someone coughs up to like 3 hours. Plus I know exactly who comes into my house and we clean and disinfect our home. Try to tell me you know about MY house🙄

they should rlly close. not only r some workers unwell, they’re not even allowed to wear gloves. they’re putting the customers lives at risk but they shouldn’t even be coming. everyone stay home nd be safe :)

Oh right, because hundreds of strangers enter my home... -_______- if I get corona it’s 100% starbuck’s fault just sayin. Doesn’t matter that my hands are cracking from washing them every 30 minutes, as soon as an infected customer comes into our store and coughs once, game over.

My SM said this to me, seems to be a talking point.
