Who do I contact in regards to taking a leave of absence?
I refuse to continue working and exposing myself to the public. I don't even care if I'm paid or not at this point.

Tell your manager you will be using sick leave because you feel unsafe. Example: Give examples of family (older members especially) that you are afraid to expose. If enough people did this they'd have to close down. That's what my manager said before I chose to do so. He approved. And now I won't expose my parents anymore.

Edit: DO NOT QUIT! THEY STILL HAVE TO PAY UNEMPLOYMENT IF THEY'RE FORCED TO FIRE YOU! It also makes it look worse if they fire you because of this! Also, be polite, give them no reasons to fire you other than you saying you felt unsafe at work!

If you do not have sick leave, still say you are not coming in because you don't feel safe. Luckily, I have a month rent saved, and figure I'll have to depend on charity if it gets past that, but homelessness is better than risking death to me, especially risking the deaths of loved ones.

How do I go about telling my sm that I will not be coming in anymore? We can’t get in trouble just for doing that? When will I be able to come back to work will I just show up when all this is over? Sorry for all the quest I want to leave but I’m so nervous too

Allegedly, they should hold your job for you if you still want it after everything blows over.

talk to your store manager. they should understand you’re reasoning and they can’t force you to work. if they aren’t helpful go to your DM. and honestly if the chain of command doesn’t work out then just quit. starbucks is an at will company so be an at will quitter

Do it. No shame. Use whatever reason you want that will work for you to protect your job and benefits.

Talk to your SM then call PCC. Sedgwick is pretty easy to deal with. I'm coming off of a LOA from a non-virus related issue.
