My mom told me to quit last night, buuuut if I quit then we don’t have health insurance and if I’ve brought this home from one of the many customers I’ve come in contact with my children’s life and my own will be at risk, I can’t chance it but I don’t want to be infected either. I’m so torn.

Don't quit. Let your manager know that you feel unsafe and will be taking sick leave/vacation time until you do. Make sure to get everything the company owes you before you cut ties, and even then, just say you will be taking unpaid time off. Make them fire you for not feeling safe instead of quitting.

Update: my manager is upset, rightfully so but she gets it. She had me call Resources and they were incredibly understanding. They said I should get the next two weeks that I’m scheduled catastrophe pay. And they said if I still feel unsafe that I can use my pto. I am not losing my job.
I asked what is going to happen if things begin to get worse and she reassured me that they are considering the safety of partners and that they get new info everyday.
Do what you all believe is best for you and your families. This will pass. Hopefully sooner than later. Love you all a latte!

They said you can get catastrophe pay even though you aren’t exhibiting symptoms & your store isn’t closed?

yeah when i called, all they said was that i had to have symptoms or a doctor’s note to get catastrophe pay or else i’d have to apply for a leave of absence...

Yes this has been my understanding so far

What’s the name of the resource center employee you spoke to? Everyone else has been told you have to have symptoms or doctors note, disputing the news letter that was released on March 12 and March 15
