Who wants to do something about this? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by organizesbux
Starbucks refuses to close their stores. Seems like everyone is talking about going to the media, quitting, walking out, unionizing.... Who wants to do it? We're stronger together! So let's do something. What does everyone want?

Tell your manager you need to leave because you don't feel safe. Don't quit, be polite. Just insistently repeat "I don't feel safe, I need to leave." MAKE them fire you for that statement alone. We need more people to make a stand, not just give up! Please for those of us who can't afford to leave.

Edit: If you have sick leave or vacation time, tell them you're using that. Make them give you money to not be there. Don't let them keep it by quitting or giving them any reason to fire you other than you didn't feel safe.

Check out the recent breaking news article on Buzzfeed and share it. You can do something about this.

Unionize, it's about time

We need to unionize then quit. The share holder meeting proved they care more about buying back stock than our well-being. Use your sick time and disaster pay then quit.

they'll just replace u if u quit. no shame in quitting but if u wanna fight for a union, we gotta stay and fight together!
