Our district manager got mad at us for sending people home early so now in the slow mornings we all just stand around cleaning the same things over and over again 🙃

wish i could do that, my hours have been low recently anyways and my weekly shifts just keep getting changed because we don’t need many people in store

I’m so happy I’m not the only one experiencing that! Every time I check my hours get smaller and smaller. Luckily I don’t have any bills to pay so I’ll be fine but it’s just concerning to see when I know people have rent, insurance, and simply need to buy food! I don’t understand how a huge corporation like starbucks is getting away with doing this to us:(

i’m in college atm, have a car to run, phone to run, have a gym membership to pay (it’s closer and i have to pay!) i’m upset with how starbucks is treating this whole thing. full time members at my store are getting more hours since they have rent etc

Seriously, living is expensive! And they’re saying that they’re going to pay us for our scheduled shifts, whether we go to them or not, but then they take away all our hours from the schedule so it doesn’t even mean anything:/ it’s just annoying

I just walked in to my store and there 7 partners working right now...like is this a joke??? Everyone is just standing around? Why am I here?

my store is now doing 2 people opening’s and 2 people closes. we’re closing 30 minutes early but still opening at 6:30 for some bizarre reason

Wish I could say the same about my location. We are only down $1k a day, just doing drive thru/grab-and-go, and getting busier as our downtown cafe stores close. There's no end in sight yet. I'm getting closer to taking my 2 paid weeks off...I feel like I'm only adding to the problem by showing up to work. I've worked at the company since 2012, I love my job and I trust my leaders. But this doesn't feel right at all.

i’ve only been a barista for 5 months for starbucks and well i love the job. good people, not too stressful and hours are good. but this whole health thing is making our job so awkward. i have to say ‘sorry’ about 50 times a day when apologising about no cash payments, no ceramic cups, no plates, no food items and no personal cups. my hours are getting decreased and my store keeps employing people, giving them the hours to get them trained up and forgetting about the people who were already there before.

You guys can’t take cash right now?!?! I wish, I’m an SSV and hate doing the cash drops. Ugh
conn663 [OP] 2 points 3y ago
well we were told that we would have designated person for cash handling but i guess that didn’t happen. yeah card only for cafe take out orders and then card only on the DT

Oh wow, well that will help some by not touching the money. I’ve been washing after every cash transaction and the customers think it’s rude, I think I’m trying to protect myself and my family and partners as much as I can while still working and being subjected to the virus while I’m at work
