Yessss!!! (self.starbucksbaristas)

My district just issued all cafes to close indefinitely. Baristas have two choices: either 2 weeks catastrophe pay or continue working at a drive thru. It sucks because after two weeks I will be out of a job for a while, however, I’m glad they are finally closing cafes as it was extremely unsafe.

UPDATE: I’m unsure if it’s 30 days or 2 weeks, Starbucks told them managers 2 weeks but sent out an email of 30days. Anyone have any answers?

I know I can call and simply get the cat pay according to what I’m seeing on reddit. But I also feel as though I’d be the downer by just not showing up for my shifts. We are becoming a drive thru only store but personally it seems off to even go to work right now.

Honestly same, our town isn't in nearly as bad of shape as other places but there's major cities within an hour or two around ours and it's starting up here, if it gets worse I want to do cat pay and isolate but I don't want to be that person and screw everyone else over because I want to be personally safe. I guess we'll see what happens in 3 days, been two days since the first person to be confirmed here, who knows how many people they were in contact with and how many people those people were in contact with. Just constant anxiety honestly

So after two weeks you just don’t get paid?

Until we reopen.. and I doubt that’s not going to be for a while. Hopefully corporate will do something but I doubt it

Same here in OK. I’m planning on working at a drive thru as long as I can, then if they haven’t given catastrophe pay use my pto
