I used to want to post about each rude entitled customer I came across at my store. these days they all blur together(self.starbucksbaristas)

our store has switched to drive thru only, as most stores have. we thought leaving mobile on would be okay. BIG mistake. the line snakes through the entire parking lot, which is HUGE by the way, and we’ve had to start running people’s orders out to them to keep them from waiting 45 minutes in line. and not a SINGLE person, not even fellow PARTNERS, has been kind or understanding. I get that waiting in line makes people antsy, but if you don’t like waiting then GO HOME. you shouldn’t be here anyway.
OH and don’t order a venti americano with “a tiny amount of water and steamed half and half the rest of the way” and then call me sweetie at the window or I WILL murder you.

Ugh... I feel this. Hang in there.
FWIW, I won't be running anything out to anyone in line at our DT; it defeats the purpose of moving to a DT-only model to begin with. Customers can wait or go home. This isn't a life or death service; it's caffeine and gobs of sugar. A luxury.

I think my SM just felt bad about people who mobile ordered and now had to sit in a giant line to pick up their drinks. i don’t feel bad for anyone coming to Starbucks right now, but I can see where she was coming from. we shut off mobile halfway through the day and that helped with volume a lot, but the line is still a 20 minute wait to get to the box to order

SM told me not to worry about customer connection, DT times or operation stuff. Just stay healthy, sane and take care of each other.

Absolutely.

Stay safe. Don’t run out to give customers their Starbucks. It is luxury not a necessity. I do Uber Eats Delivery, and I don’t mind waiting in the Drive Thru bc I know everyone needs to practice social distancing. I saw that the drive thru was packed so I notified the customer that Starbucks is only doing Drive Thru. I waited in line listening to music and texting friends. When I got to the window, I was very confused bc I saw delivery drivers waiting on the side for pick up when that app clearly states to use the Drive Thru to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Thank you all Starbucks employees for making people happy with their coffee. My coffee makes me feel a little less sad.

I don't know why this is bringing out the worst in people. SO many people have been rude the past few days. Uber drivers are complaining about how long the drive thru is and people are coming up to the door and knocking without looking at the sign.
The cherry on top was the lady who knocked on the door and waved her coffee cup at us while the four people who showed up to work are running around to keep up with delivery, mobile, and drive thru orders because her coffee tasted funny.
I only had to work four hours today, thankfully, but my store is one of the busiest, if not the busiest, in the area and there's three people right now with all the call outs.

DT stores are going through it right now. until we all close DT stores are going to be the only ones open and we’re going to absorb all the business from surrounding cafe-only stores, so we’re only going to get busier. sending all my love to my fellow DT partners, don’t let the Karens get you down

Customers are quick to post "Stay at home!" on social media, then bellow out their coffee order into the box with their next breath. It's annoying how *busy* drive thru has been.

I wanna snap so hard at every customer that waltzes in demanding a mocha cookie crumble frappuccino xtra mocha drizzle, leaves, comes back and is like "I said no mocha drizzle" 5 mins later. There is a PANDEMIC!!! STAY YOUR ASS HOME!! You're part of the problem. I get providing a sense of """"normalcy to people's lives"""" this is just inconsiderate and increased rudeness!! This sucks. Hang in there.

No effing way. We are social distancing. Do not run to cars. They can either wait or skip they’re essential coffee

don’t worry, we shut down mobile halfway through my shift because it was just getting ridiculous. we literally didn’t have enough counter space in the entire store to fit everything. why are people so desperate for Starbucks??? lmao

Hang in there. I’m so sorry, we’ve all chosen to stay home at my store and are closed for the 30 days. This is unbelievable, the amount of people that yelled at me while cleaning the store today was stupid.
rabbitmom1999 [OP]3 points3y ago
same here. so many people banging on the windows waving their phones at us trying to get in. with the sign that says drive thru only and an empty cafe right in front of their faces. I don’t know what makes people think they’re entitled to Starbucks at a time like this, but whatever it is it’s gross and I hope I’m never that tone deaf.

Gross and tone deaf are perfect words to describe it
