Your health is important as is your mental well being.
If you're in a rural area that hasn't been as affected, from what I can see right now it's not /as big/ of a deal. (That said, we're still all in this together). As along as you practice the five (and as a nursing student I'm sure you do) it wouldn't be crazy if you decided to work, you shouldn't feel bad about it. That said, choosing to stay home would also be justified and understandable, as the nature of that choice means we will never know how necessary it was, because the whole point is prevention.
It was hard for me to make my decision too. Since I work close to a city and our store was still receiving high traffic (dumb butts) I decided to self-isolate. Many of my coworkers have immune compromised relatives and have chosen to do the same. As a result, our store will be closed starting tomorrow.
Some clarification:
\-hazard pay counts toward your benefit hours, meaning it works mostly like vacation pay (without counting off any vacation hours) if that's a factor for you. (I.e. health insurance qualifications)
\-you will be paid for your scheduled hours and then an estimated average of your typical hours for the rest of the 30 days.
\-You will have a job waiting after the 30 days. If you are told you don't, they're wrong, and you will have people backing you up. Worst case scenario you just might have to alert someone of the situation.
Basically: You know what you need. As hard a decision as this is to make, trust yourself.
