After 30 days if were not getting payed and the store closes could we collect partial unemployment? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Don't know where you live but in NY, if you are not working right now (or working less 3 days or less) AND you are not getting personal, sick, or vacation time to use. You should file for unemployment benefits.

I'm still working, they basically want you to know you don't have to work. Some of us would go crazy sat at home and I'm sure that's coming for all of us eventually anyways

I haven’t seen a reason to NOT take it beyond personal ones - which are 100% valid. But yeah. My entire store took it so we’re closed as of tomorrow

My sm told me that after 30days if I still don’t work that I’d be placed on a leave of absence but I won’t qualify for unemployment if I’m placed on leave.
