Catastrophe pay (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Smazlynne
It’s insane how many posts I’ve seen about managers guilt tripping their partners to take work at another store rather than take their 30 days. I’m taking work at another store but that’s just for the sole purpose of trying to get as much money out of this as possible right now so I can afford to pay my bills but my manager, district manager AND region manager reassured all our partners at every location closed in my district that there was no judgment in whatever decision you choose. DO NOT let your management team make you feel bad for choosing your 30 days! Stay safe!

Just called PCC and she said that cat pay has just been extended to April 20th no matter when you opt in. So if you want to keep working for another week before opting in for cat pay, you can, and it will still last til April 20th. At that point if you want to continue to self isolate, you can start to use your vacation and sick hours.

Which is totally up to you! I still have rent and bills to pay during this time as well as my teenage brother and sisters to care for so if I can make more than my weekly average working at another store then I unfortunately have to take that option. But I’m only feeling it out for a week. If I’m not making more money then I’m just going to take the cat pay for the remaining three weeks. I usually have more income coming in from my second job that pays more but they shutdown with no pay to the staff

That isn’t clear, still last until April 20th? So work 10 days then CAT pay for 20? No thank you, I’ll take CAT pay for 30 and not risk permanent lung damage
