How does this 30 days pay thing work (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by scarciti
So, I was meant to go on vacation for three weeks before this whole coronavirus thing started, so I was taken off the schedule for those three weeks.
Now, I can't go on vacation because my state is shut down and in quarantine. Big sad :(
My manager is telling me that I won't be able to get those 30 days pay since I'm not on the schedule, but I will be after March 31st. Is there anything I can do to change this cause the pay would be very nice and I will likely really need it.

You're gunna get 30 days paid based on your average weekly hours. Any previously booked vacation needs to be used as vacation still unfortunately

A friend of mine had the same problem. She got scheduled for a total of 18 hours over a two week period because she requested a few weeks off. I believe the catastrophe pay means that you get paid for the hours you’re scheduled, so if you’re scheduled 20 hrs every week for the next few weeks (say 4 for example) you would be paid for 80 hours of work. Unfortunately for my friend, she said she’s only going to get paid for those 18 hours since the other time was requested off. I’m not sure if there’s a loophole or not but I don’t think there is :(
