My girlfriend gets Starbucks literally every day. (self.starbucksbaristas)

She’s worried that it’ll close completely soon. What is this 30 day offer that I am reading employees being offered? Are stores in danger of closing?

she can survive without starbucks for a few days, save some money and have her make her coffee at home

....what?
I was asking about what the employees options were because I work at a grocery store so I was curious. Didn’t say she was going to die.

Stay home and reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus. You can make coffee at home

All Starbucks are drive thru only in North America

Also all the partners (that's what the workers are called) are allowed to take 30 days off, paid.

So yes a lot are probably going to close due to short staffing. But most drive thru stores are still open.

Thank you for giving me a real answer. Everyone else got way too judgmental way too quick.

If you can’t tell there’s a global pandemic going on. Although there are many Starbucks DTs open its probably wise to just follow the recommendations of the cdc and the government to just stay home.

Oh there is? I must have missed that in between my shifts at Trader Joe’s...

Hey I’m sorry man, this sub is really a place for underpayed employees to vent. To answer your question, pretty much all Starbucks stores have either switched to Drive thru or have closed. They’ve also changed their hours so I’d highly recommend calling your local store to see if they’re open and what their new hours are. For your wife, I HIGHLY recommend that she gets her coffee as early as possible. Stores have been oddly busy with customers who want ridiculous drinks at absurd quantities. I don’t know if this will mean anything but I appreciate all the work your wife is doing and I love Trader Joe’s. If I could give your a recovery card, I would.

They sell jugs of Starbucks at the grocery store, it’s actually really good! Just pour it over ice

I don’t have to. I work at a grocery store with the line wrapped around the building every morning and in direct contact with customers all day. Not to mention, my girlfriend is a nurse so she’s being highly exposed too.
If you’re complaining about having to make all of those drinks, then stay home. If they’re offering to pay you for up to a month, stay home. Doesn’t sound like anyone is forcing you to work.
