Wow that is messed up. Try calling your SM or DM and let them know that it isn't safe for you to keep working because of your health conditions. Make sure they put you in for the 30 days paid off. Document any negative behavior from management and SSVs and call PCC (888)728-9411 or (866)504-7368 if you need to. I do not understand why people are acting like fools during a pandemic.

The behavior towards you by other partners is unacceptable, by managers is outrageous. They need a real coaching conversation. Take it DM and pcc.

This is why I think this 30 day leave “option” seemed odd to me. It’s almost like it’s designed to make partners feel weird and self conscious about taking it. Now is the time to ENCOURAGE people to stay home! Literally the world is begging us to! Not fucking SHUN them? Especially when you have health conditions that make you more susceptible to infections.
Why not just close the stores completely and take the right precautious and possibly save lives? We could easily be transmitting the virus to people just like you who could get really sick.
It’s really clear that you, me, and all other partners are dispensable pawns in all this. As long as they have their coffee robots (infected or not) making them money all’s well and fucking dandy.
Shame on your manager and co workers.
Shame on Starbucks.

It’s really bad how they’ve been to me today. I’ve seriously never felt so bad about it ever in my life. I feel like crap just for not being as lucky as other people having good health. I cried today 😔

Please, PLEASE do not feel bad for looking out for yourself. You know what to do for your own health and you're more important than any shift not worked or any corporation. I'm sorry your coworkers are such shits, if this is how they're going to be then fuck em.

Thank you and your right! Screw them for being mean. I NEED this to live and if they wanna be bad to me then screw them.

i am not a legal advisor but i studied a bit of HR. i made an account just to reply. what you need to do is document everything so far. this can eventually lead to a wrongful termination or a retaliation case from a change in your work environment that hinders you or future personal attacks from supervisors that you can take to court which would count as harassment if you feel your work environment is dangerous. these are all legally protected and the burden afaik is for the employer to have a god damn really good reasonable explanation as to why they acted the way they did towards you that relates to the business and has nothing to do with pre-existing conditions or anything leading up to it.

also, make sure starbucks has a record of your doctors note that you have asthma. if you go to hr they will find a way to stop everything i said from happening. if you dont go to hr you might have a lawsuit in favor of you. the choice is yours.

This makes me so frustrated for you. I think you need to talk to someone, it’s not right for them to say things like that to you. I’d stand up for you 👏🏼

Thank you! I think I’m gonna try to call the company and see what they can do for me because this isn’t the first time they’ve belittled and made me feel bad.
