Customers, I am BEGGING you guys to stay home. Our drive thru was non-stop all day with multiple drink orders each car. We are all so tired.
PLEASE STAY HOME AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES. YOU DON’T NEED STARBUCKS THIS BAD RIGHT NOW.

Yeah it’s ridiculous. My stores busier than ever. One of the reasons I’m taking the paid leave.
shutupsav [OP]18 points3y ago
Honestly, I’m considering it now. I stayed because I thought we would be slow and we could just keep the place afloat and clean in the meantime. Right now though, the only thing keeping me here is that I don’t want my partners to get fucked. If this persists, I’m taking the leave. It’s outrageous.
krissfak8 points3y ago
Atleast you get the option. I'm at a licensed location and we are still open. It's either work or get furloughed...
RaptorSwaggor3 points3y ago
They announced today that people who stay will get a $3 raise till the 19th.
krissfak4 points3y ago
Not for licensee's.....

My store has been busy literally since we opened today. My SM said that we are open to serve the frontliners who are helping everybody try to fight COVID-19. We served maybe 4 of those said frontliner with many leaving our store because our line was too long. As much as I’d like to try to support them, the neighborhood we so call “nurture” with every cup decided to come get frapps and food like there isn’t an actual pandemic going on and not following the law to stay inside their goddamn house. I want to be there for the people who are fighting in hospitals and grocery stores and gas stations, but if doing that also means that it attracts every single family quarantining that does or does not know if they have the virus but they just want their coffee cause their bored, then let me take that 30 day. Contributing to their ignorance and recklessness is what we are doing when we stay open, and idk if thats something we should do.

PREACH. I would love to be open for first responders and the like (who always order reasonably). I’m happy to serve them. However, we only had 2 police officers come through from what I could tell. The majority of customers were families, kids who aren’t in school, etc. ordering a million fraps, refreshers, cake pops, and breakfast sandwiches. I am so done with people blatantly ignoring the directives of government officials and putting us and themselves at risk for a fucking Frappuccino. It’s not worth it, people.
KyrieKyru17 points3y ago
Whats worst, is that regulars keep coming in, even the hella old ones. Like, HOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT SIREN HAS GOT ITS HOLD ON YOU.
Pomitlicious3 points3y ago
You know, I think some have a severe sugar addiction. One guy was like “are you open?” And we said yes. He let out the biggest sigh of relief as he proceeded to order his Venti WCM with extra pumps 😭
bedusseyy14 points3y ago
it was non-stop today from 8am to when i left after 4, i had to stay late so that people could get their breaks without the floor being understaffed, and had MULTIPLE orders $35+ with at least 3 food items, i had one car do two separate orders with 10 food items total, it was god awful today. the best order of the day was a doppio with two raw sugars. there were cars wrapped around our building when i walked out the back door and left this afternoon, i felt so bad for my closing shift
danopenugh11 points3y ago
i got fed up today because we were also so busy and i just looked at my coworker and said “is it really worth it? is it REALLY worth walking out of your house, driving to starbucks, getting in drive thru, JUST TO SAY.. can i have a grande java chip frappuccino?”
MazzStar8 points3y ago
Sammeeeee!! People be ordering a 3 course meal for 20 people .....and their dogs need 5 wips😐😐😐 stay homeeeeeee
crzyshiba7 points3y ago
Oh man now I’m like maybe I shouldn’t have picked up a shift haha
shutupsav [OP]3 points3y ago
Nah, don’t feel bad. It’s great that you picked up a shift. It’s been a little rough lately. I think we can all universally agree on that. We need to support each other right now. We’re all still here working for one reason or another and for a lot of us, not wanting to let our partners down is one of them.
crzyshiba2 points3y ago
Wow thanks for that much appreciated , I’ll let ya know how this shift goes Tuesday haha I’m from a cafe and going to DT , I started at a DT but ever since I went to cafe I was less stressed
Frecksbux5 points3y ago
Hang in there my fellow bean! People are just ridiculously stupid right now and are not taking this serious. Put your health first as starbucks wont! We appreciate you!!
golden_pinky5 points3y ago
Take the 30. You're entitled to it.
borshctbeet4 points3y ago
Why don’t you stay home? And get paid to. For once a corporation that consistently under pays their employees wants to hand you free money. Take it.
RegularFrappuccino4 points3y ago
Take the 30 days!
Cnofear144 points3y ago
As someone who can’t call in to work I appreciate the baristas who are still working. Trust me I know the feeling of feeling unappreciated, I manage group homes for developmentally disabled adults and let me tell you the owner’s biggest issue is his bottom line. When I ordered and received my dirty chai and iced tea it made my back to back 15 hr shifts bearable. You guys are appreciated, so what you have to do to keep yourself and your family safe. Just know you being there is appreciated by some of us.
jangdangit3 points3y ago
Target folk are getting 2$ raises. Starbucks stays open unless Target says otherwise. We are also to be placed in different positions if Starbucks DOES close, so no sick pay if you don't got them hours either.
MillerPug2 points3y ago
Take.the.leave. everyone's mentioning toughing it out for their fellow partners but is that really helping eachother. We all know being out to go to Starbucks isn't right right now. We also know that the vast majority of people served are not going to be emergency workers. Take the leave. Show corporate you don't feel safe. Show your partners you are prioritizing your safety and want them to do the same. Show customers our beverages take a back seat to our baristas. Being open is too much temptation for people. Show your fellow partners you care by taking the leave now and encouraging them.
conn6632 points3y ago
my store is closing today at 5pm. the rest of our hours this week will get paid and for april we’re getting our monthly average wage from the last 12 weeks
MurderComplication1 points3y ago
I used to work in a licensed store (closed now), so lucky I have a new job. I'm essential services now and work 96-hour shifts. You're my little treat before a hectic shift. You are appreciated by those that cannot stay home.
alreadydeadinisde1 points3y ago
I work at a cafe only store. I live pretty close by and I drove past it this morning and people are still trying to get in even though we’ve been closed for days..
Mthompson0181 points3y ago
Yep, it’s ridiculous. Nobody is taking this seriously and it’s only going to get worse... fast! For me and the safety of my family I took the Cat pay and I’m staying home!
