Less hours????? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by DaddyMocha
My SM’s been slashing our hours all week and trying to have as few people at work as possible. I hit overtime almost every week, and yet for the next two weeks I’m scheduled for 28 hours? With how many people are choosing the 30 days, I know that I’m going to be coming in to hit 40, but if our store closes, I’m stuck with 28 for catastrophe pay. This is absolute bs. I work my ass off every week and now I’m getting screwed over. I won’t take the 30 days unless everyone else does, because I consider my coworkers my friends and I’m not going to abandon those who choose to keep working, no matter how horrible the hours, conditions, and risks may be. If Starbucks actually gave a rat’s ass about its partners and customers, all stores would close.

I have a question on that as well, our stores hours have changed from 4am to 7pm to 7am to 4pm and I am an opener so I usually start at four at, I was wondering if I still get paid for my scheduled eight hour shift even though the store will be closed at 4pm and if this is true I’m wondering if hazard pay is worth it over paid leave

I was told that if the store hours change you would be covered for whatever you had been scheduled. I’m an opener and our morning hours weren’t impacted but we are closing earlier. Our SM told us in group text that closers would be paid for their full shift and get off an hour earlier, at least for what’s already scheduled.
