Any other stores with lots of coworkers still choosing to work? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by eilselserrot
I am taking the 30 days off, and when I went into the store today to confirm with my manager, I noticed a roster. On the roster the vast majority of my coworkers had the word “staying” next to their names. Anyone else having lots of coworkers staying? I feel like the incentive to stay kind of undermines the 30 days, but I also understand lots of people really need the money. I don’t know.

We have 34 partners total at my store, and currently 25 of us are staying and still working.

My store has 10 people staying including the SM and ASM

Is that enough to keep the store running? Were your store hours shortened?
blondiebarista 2 points 3y ago
It will be because we’re open 5am-8pm and they approved OT plus a few people from closed cafes want to work a shift or two so I guess it works out

My store is closing. I was one of the few who offered to stay and work. I could have gone to another store but I opted out. I was on the fence to begin with so it wasn’t really a thing. The only thing I’m bummed about is not getting a chance to say goodbye to our regulars and my partners today before we got word.

My store is the only store in our district with ALL partners choosing to work. We’re sending partners to different stores because they have a few partners that opted for the 30 days.

My whole district shut down because there were not enough partners willing to work to keep any of the stores open.

We have 20 employees (including Shifts and SM) all but 2 are staying. The two that are staying home , one has a new baby and one is a lower immune system.

Only one person at my store is not staying, but she also works at Costco and is getting paid $8 more an hour than Starbucks and has OT approved, plus our hours are being cut. But then again, our sales aren’t down by much
