How does Catastrophe pay work? My SM says that the 30 day window closes April 19th so if I take it now I still won't get the entire 30 days? We called corporate and they said that wasn't the case though but she says that's what they told her (self.starbucksbaristas)

Starbucks is giving us the opportunity to be paid if we don’t choose to work from March 21st to April 19th. You can continue to work with an incentive till the 19th of April or you can leave anytime during the period of those 30 days with paid time off. If you want to work till April 19th and then feel uncomfortable later on, you can still call time off later on, it would just still be that you’ll be covered with catastrophe pay until April 19th only

Adding to this, if you want to take time off after April 19th you will need to use vacation pay or sick time or take unpaid leave.

The situation is being reassessed daily, the cat pay could be extended further but do not rely on that happening.

so I spoke with corporate and they said it used to be like this: you have until the 19th to start your 30 day period. Yesterday, March 24th, they changed it and now the window closes the 19th

so if we take the time off april 15th we still get all the 30 paid days right?

No you'll have 5 days of cat pay

The cat pay is from whenever you start until april 19th. Since it's already march 24th, then it can't be 30 days because there's not that many days before april 19th.
