Some of the cups don't melt when you put the almost boiling water in them. So we were pulling the shots directly into the cup until it got about three fourths full, and then moved it to the side for the rest in case we spilled it all. But the whole cup really didn't get more than uncomfortably warm to touch when we had to move it.

Well as a customer I find this interesting. A shot is 1.5 oz and a Venti cold cup is 24 fluid oz. So it should have only fit 16. The fact that it fits 32 suggests that a starbucks "shot" is 1/2 a shot?
