Please help me survive quarantine and maintain my addiction. All Starbucks near me are closed and I’m a daily iced coffee drinker. It’s not the same when I try to make it at home with pike place or any other roast. I was told it’s a different type of coffee?
The iced coffee just gives me so much more energy it seems but I can’t find where to buy it 😢

You’re right, Starbucks doesn’t use pike but rather specific beans for the iced coffee. However, a very good way to make iced coffee is to brew your coffee a little more bitter than you when you drink it hot. If you use sugar instead of syrup, add the sugar in the coffee before adding ice and milk. Then wisk the sugar and coffee so it’s completely blended.

I’ve gone to target before and bought the Starbucks branded dark roast iced coffee that comes in one of the bigger bottles and I love it. Not sure if that’s something you’ve had before though

I’ve made my own take on iced coffee because I love our iced coffee but refuse to go right now. How I make mine is I brew a 4 table spoons Guatemala coffee / 2 cups of water. Once it’s brewed I pour over ice since it will dilute a bit. I feel it’s not to biter or light for me. I feel it’s similar to the iced coffee. If not I know target sells starbucks iced coffee.

we don't sell our iced coffee roast and I'm honestly not sure what's special about it since I don't really drink iced coffee (I'm a cold brew gal) but I do know our technique: it's brewed double strength (meaning, twice as much ground coffee) directly over ice! this gets it cold real fast so it can't develop the stale flavors that brewed coffee gets if you just let it cool, and since it's double strength it gets diluted to the proper ratio by the melting ice. if you haven't been doing it like this, try it and and see what happens! good luck
