We need people to stay home! I have a more positive idea than complaining about it.... (self.starbucksbaristas)

As baristas, we know the recipes. Many of us have recreated drinks at home with things from the grocery. They're probably not the exact same thing, but might scratch that itch for some people.

So what if we started posting our own substitute recipes and pictures of making drinks AT HOME on r/starbucks from things you can buy at actually essential grocery stores? That way they can have their coffee and drink it too.

I don’t want to shell out money for a coffee Grinder and espresso machine. Wish it was as easy as a pour over lol

I've basically just been brewing strong Komodo coffee, and using less milk. Not the same, but easier and cheaper. Also, plenty of people come for iced coffees, which most people don't know how to do. The big thing I'm still trying to figure out is frappuccinos!

Also, grocery stores usually have coffee grinders in groceries while they get other stuff, or they can just buy it pre-ground.

I would love to know how to make or where to buy the vanilla powder & what the correct peppermint syrup is.

From what I hear, the peppermint syrup can be made with a couple drops of peppermint oil in a teaspoon of simple syrup = 1 pump.

Going to a grocery store is a greater risk of contracting and spreading the virus than drive through at Starbucks. The countless people touching items on shelves and putting back, over crowded and impossible to stay 6 ft from people at all times. But I like where your head is at.

if people went while they got their usual groceries i don't think there would be too much of an extra problem! but ofc some people wouldn't even think or care about that which is a risk too
