Anybody else stuck wondering what’s going to happen after the 19th? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’ve been off with cat pay for almost 2 weeks now, anybody else in the same boat wondering wtf we’re going to walk into IF we’re to go back to work after the 19th?

Oh, yes, definitely wondering and agonizing over it. If my store is still open, I have already decided to go back to work. I'm the only one in my family getting a paycheck right now, and it's just as scary as this pandemic. Only time will tell what will happen. I doubt even corporate knows.

My store is still open too, and as far as I know there’s only a couple of other partners who took cat pay too which makes me feel weird?? I try not to feel guilty but it’s hard when I have so much time to think about stuff, lol. It just seems like from an outside perspective that my store is functioning w/ all the changes. Might be a bit much to walk back into, esp with the covid cases peaking where I live ATM.

Idt you should feel guilty, but I do too bc my manager is a great guy. Most of my store took the cat pay. It sounds like we have mostly borrowed staff atm, but I haven't been in since taking cat pay so I'm not totally sure what is happening. Sucks being out of the loop too. I love my store. Yeah, looks like I will be returning when cases peak in my area too, ugh.

Yeah, I just feel guilty because all my partners are awesome and I’m just chilling at home 😷😷lmao

We’re closed til 4/19 because so many chose to take it. I guess I’ll go back when they reopen. Can’t expect to sit at home and get paid so 🤷🏻‍♀️

talked to my SM today... apparently from here out they (at least in my district) are supposed to reach out and talk with their store partners twice a week)...

of my entire store we have 2 baristas actually working... our store is in the mall and was one of the earliest to close completely because of said location so they are working at other stores.

he (SM) had no update info beyond that we are supposed to be going back to work mid april (he told me but I don't recall) but in chatting I'm fairly certain as was he that the date will be pushed back until May with the recent presidential order/announcement for social distancing...

Big oof, I’m in Canada so at least in my Provence all of the cafe stores closed and it’s just DT stores open. At least across North America we’re all in the dark in solidarity together lol.

Our store is opening back up. We were the only store in the area where majority took cat pay. (Manager was understanding) Told my manager I'm using up sick hours before coming back. They're really about to be reopening when shit is peaking.

It's just not worth it. Itd be nice in 10 years to tell my kids I didnt die to make 6$ milkshakes..

my store is reopening monday and I'm gonna go back idk why

I’m assuming we will open back up and probably have to keep cafes closed. So if you’re from a cafe store... maybe work at a drive through store?? I’m just hoping if they have us go back, they don’t try to keep labor super low. I want 4-5 partners on the floor at all times! Lol

I’m at a DT store, but that’s what I’m scared of!! That the labour is gonna be garbage when I come back.
