What if I don’t show up for a day? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by obezzy_ADR
If I didn’t show up for a day, I just didn’t feel right, do I need to use my sick time or will I still be paid do to what’s going on?

Just make sure you call and tell them your calling off and write it in the book and apply your sick time. :) but don’t forget to call. That’s kinda bogus to do to your team if you just like don’t show up lol. Giving them a heads up is always the best. Also try finding your own coverage and asking others to take your shift so your team isn’t down a person would be even better before just not going. And if no one can, tell your manager and a shift leader that you did try reaching out. It makes you look like you actually tried and care.

No of course no got my shift covered an all, but was just wondering, if I would need to write it in the books or I would still be paid due to our current situation

You need to write it as sick time in the book the next time you go to work. You also don't have to find your own coverage when you're sick just so you know.

But it’s definitely so nice if you do. If I don’t feel well I know I’m not gonna feel like better the next day I go ahead and ask people just Incase so I’m not letting my team down. If no one can then at least I tried. Always calling and making a slight effort than just calling off looks better for ANY job.

you can use sick pay, or if you worked less this week than your average weeks worth of hours from feb-march you will still get paid for that average
