Realizing how hard it is right now to be working. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Leahwallzorz
I’m a healthy, young adult and in a relatively low risk area for corona. So given how much we’re being paid to stay on, I’ve made the choice not to take the 30 days. And for the most part, I’ve been happy with that choice, although I have nothing but support for anyone taking that time off.

But today, my 65 year old Mom came through the drive thru. She and I haven’t been able to see each other except through FaceTime because she in the at risk category and I’m still working with the public. She and I are intensely close, and the second she saw me she burst into tears. We couldn’t hug. There was nothing I could do to make it better other than to tell her how much I love her and promise a six hour long hug when this is all done.

God damn it these are hard times.
