Hey guys,
Since my creativity has taken a nosedive lately, I thought I'd reach out for some brainstorming ideas for a recommendation report I have to write for class. The subject is a recommendation for a problem or opportunity in one's career or workplace. This can affect both customers and workers. The example the professor used was wage increases for baristas working for minimum wage, which sucks because that would have been fantastic.
This thing has to have 7 sources and be 10-12 pages, so I need something I can really talk a lot about.
My only thoughts so far are addressing barista burnout due to labor cuts or somehow tying in this pandemic (i.e. the issue of can we wear face masks to work or not)
If anyone has any thoughts floating around, lmk! I know I can do a great job on this thing if I just get a little nudge.

I would also talk about abuse from customers. There was a tiktok video I saw where a customer in the drive thru made a barista cry and was floating about getting a free drink. Things like that would be good evidence.

how’s about comparing the enormity of what needs to be done to maintain both a clean store and partners’ morale against the lack of labor for it? Like really building a case of what needs to done in terms of deep cleaning and equipment maintenance, throwing in recognizing potentials and allocating appropriate training to develop partners. Have fun.

There have been health care workers coming to my store with other people’s badges asking for several drinks because the other nurses “can’t leave the hospital” this gives me major anxiety. I’m put at window almost my entire shift all the time. I agree that it’s a great gesture because they are doing so much for us and putting themselves at risk but why encourage them to come to our stores and put us at risk too? It doesn’t make sense.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I feel like this helped get my brain kick started. Sigh...ok, off to work on it.
