if you order a venti cappuccino, you're either a dumbass who doesn't really know what a cappuccino is meant to be, OR if you order it extra dry you're an asshole who is gonna make me spend a very long time on your drink

get a refresher blended and you're a tween or you peaked in high school

Just curious though, as someone who prefers cappuccinos when I don't want something sweet. Why is venti bad, and it only takes a few seconds longer to make it dry.

mostly just because a cappuccino is meant to be a small drink with just shots and foam, so I think people are silly when they order a venti. and regular dry is fine, but extra dry does take a super long time. idk if you're a barista here or not but it takes a mad long time. so order whatever you want, it's fine! but it does take a long time for an extra dry capp

When you get into a *venti* sized cappuccino, it actually takes quite a bit of extra effort to get that much volume of milk “dry”.

I once had a customer ask for an extra dry alternative milk cappuccino. I had to tell them that it was unfortunately not possible.

I work in a Starbucks in an office building with a law firm in it and near the financial district of my city. Dudes in their 20s to late 30s wearing the same Patagonia fleece vest always order cold brew anything (nitro or regular).

Whites: PSL, Lattes, Vanilla Sweet Cream CB

Blacks: Vanilla Frappe w/ extra Caramel Drizzle or Blended Strawberry Lemonade, Ice Teas w/ lemonade

Asians: Americano, Black Coffee, Nitro CB, Matcha Latte w/ soy!

Latinos: Caramel Frappe w/ diabetes amount of Caramel Drizzle, or any Frappes in general & Strawberry Açaí Refresher!!!

For Asian, most Koreans would order Americano bc I think most KPop idols drink it so it’s super popular. Vietnamese will sometimes order shots on ice with white mocha.

I’m from Vietnam and tbh, it’s the CLOSEST possible thing you can get and it’s quick. VNmese coffee in VN is made with kinda like a pourover and you let it drip over condensed milk. And the coffee is roasted very differently so it’s not quite the same taste.

Teenaged/early 20’sWhite girls ALWAYS get refreshers, Frappuccinos or iced coffee.

Latin women always seem to get Frappuccinos, and Latin men will either get Frappuccinos or black coffee, usually with espresso added.

East Asians always go with matcha latte’s or Frappuccinos or tea.

Indians get hot tea or coffee

White men and Blacks are the groups that I see get a little bit of everything.

I work in a high tourist location, and we have lots of Indian guests. They ALWAYS order their drinks extra hot. ALWAYS. And ask for an extra cup. It has happened SO many times and almost never fails.

At my store we would get the odd group of middle aged Indian men or middle aged Chinese men who would get fraps and have a hang out in the cafe... something about that warmed my heart, especially helping them pick out something sugary that they would like! I try not to pass judgement but there are definitely stereotypes that exist in the starbucks world as we see in this post and it’s really cool to see people drastically break them lol

My customer base is extremely diverse and I agree with all of these. Indians also really like matcha and mango dragonfruit refreshers.

Also whenever I get black women in general I will likely be making caramel things... like macchiatos and fraps. Latinas like to order fraps a lot or basically any really sugary drink. Or a gaggle of basic bitch tweens/teens/young college girls. I know I'll make a lot of fraps and pink drinks.

20-35 year old guys get black cold brew (OR nitro, if they have taste). and if you regularly order a blended refresher you are the most high maintenance person in your friend group. if you get iced caramel macchiatos you probably forget to ask for it iced and then either sound annoyed when we ask you hot or iced OR get pissed when you’re handed a hot drink. every time.

I’ve actually never seen a gay man order a pink drink at my store. They tend to order classic expresso drinks. Mind you, we are downtown, but no where near the “gayborhood”.

Pink drinks at this location are almost exclusively women, teens and tweens.
