I honestly am not super concerned. Both my ASM and my SM took it, as well as 28/30 partners at my (dt) store. They can't fire all of us. They've also been spouting its message of helping partners too long to not have serious backlash for dropping that many people, and they hate ruining their image.

I don’t think Starbucks would do that, especially when you’re a tenured partner. Barely any jobs right now are doing interviews to begin with and trying to fill the shoes of a 5-year partner is difficult. Above all, your health and family come first, especially because people still aren’t taking this pandemic seriously.

I worry about job security too, but even though I took cat pay, I'm a solid employee with a decent amount of hours. It wouldn't be right to lay off good people who took this offer under the pretense that it was for our safety and the safety of our loved ones...right?

Starbucks just made an announcement as of 3pm EST yesterday (4/1) that catastrophe pay would be extended until May 3rd. This is according to my store manager who gave us the information. All cafes will also be closed until May 3rd. So they’ve already taken action fairly quickly knowing the social distancing recommendation has been extended.
