This could also be considered a regular shift at Starbucks bingo! 😂

Except for $20 tip...
Assiqtaq 35 points 3y ago
What about people buying with cash and acting insulted when you try to give them their change.
Remi-Chan 8 points 3y ago
Jesus, I hate this shit. This guy paid me in cash and coins and when I tried to give his change back, he had this visceral reaction to the coins and went "No way, I don't want those, you have no idea how long the virus can stay on metal"

YOU PAID ME WITH COINS SIR!!!
Momisnotmyname 7 points 3y ago
if they don't want chamge back, is it then considered a tip?
King_Spamula 6 points 3y ago
Always
Assiqtaq 2 points 3y ago
For us, yes and no. Technically we aren't supposed to accept tips, but we can if they insist, technically, three times. So yeah it becomes a tip if they refuse to take it, but why are you coming to the grocery store to get frappuccinos and paying with cash if you don't trust the cash? And why is the drink then perfectly safe? I just don't get people sometimes.

I'm really sorry, guys. Be well, stay safe, here's to better days ahead.

This is exactly why Im not going back to work until my home store, a corporate hospital location, opens up again. I love my healthcare workers and I don’t want to serve the general population during *normal times*. Now that the only people coming in are pretty much guaranteed to be The Worst Fucking People... that extra three dollars isnt anywhere NEAR enough...

Im incredibly grateful to be in a position to wait this out pretty much as long as it takes.

I’m on cat pay right now because family medical issues but I worked about two weeks when it first started to get back and e v e r y d a y would be at least 4 calls, happened twice a day where cars couldn’t move because of how busy we were, every guy in their 30-40 asked why we were open and what makes us “essential” (you’re here, you tell me). I cried every time I was done my shift. Older customers came to the door, read the sign, tried to open the door, went to the other door and did the same. Almost every pastry was asked to be kept in the bag. We ran out of milk and cake pops a lot. I did see pretty good tips tho. And now that I’m on cat pay my hair is bleached and kind of pink

They should have the “why aren’t you wearing gloves and a mask?”

The “how many free first responder coffees can I get at once time?”

The “is there really a secret menu?” From a poor old man sent to buy frapps for all of the teeny boppers in his life.

The “I’ll take 6 Trenta strawberry açaí with no water light ice and no strawberries”

The “we ran out of trays so stop ordering 15 drinks with not enough cup holders”

The “calling the cops again for yet another fight in the drive thru”

Or the “sorry it’s REALLY unsafe to serve walk ups even more so now than ever” (we are across the street from a car dealership and repair center so they leave their cars there and try to come walking into the drive thru like we can serve them.... we can’t serve them on a good day- much less on drive thru only situations when people are literally fist fighting and almost hitting baristas in the drive thru when they’re trying to take out the trash.

Holy smokes, I’m so sorry to hear things have been so hard. Just how many fights have broken out??
helgathehorriblez 3 points 3y ago
At least once a day. We’ve had to call the cops several times. People just don’t quit even on Sundays! It’s unreal! Savages!

Free Space for: “Manager has to rewrite the entire schedule because someone else decided to take their leave”
nutpuncher32 11 points 3y ago
I cried while reading this because there’s only one I couldn’t check off ☹️
drueowen [OP] 5 points 3y ago
Which is that?
[deleted] 2 points 3y ago
I have a feeling it’s the $20 tip
nutpuncher32 2 points 3y ago
Actually it’s the bleaching and dyeing one I did that before this started and all the salons are closed
P_2_P 9 points 3y ago
Um. Im a gold member, where’s my free space?
teet_teet 4 points 3y ago
Every time a customer wipes their drink and credit card off with a sanitizer wipe after you hand it to them like you’re a disease.
DovaBen 3 points 3y ago
I wouldn’t know, I’ve been laid off ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
