Y'all I understand you like what you like. But like when the only thing that's talked about my store is tik Tok... Imma rip out my hair. And today I learned that some barista out there making secret menu drinks on tik Tok and it's trending???? Like this pandemic is bad enough without people coming to my store and asking for a strawberry shortcake periwinkle star dusted blessed by the pope frappucino... And then they don't know the recipe. Gtfo

One of my coworkers got in trouble the other day because someone ordered a surprise me drink but it had to be secret menu and she replied with “ma’am we’re in the middle of a pandemic”. Highlight of the last month for sure.

Our retail store location is closed right now but I have a solution for this that works half of the time. I usually play dumb lol. I’ll usually say “isn’t tik tok that app where all the kids dance?” Most of them don’t have a recipe and usually give up by then. Our third week of being closed and I’m actually starting to miss it..

I just wish that instead of giving it some cute name they would just say, "So go to Starbucks and order a..." whatever substitutions or additions they want. I really like all the super creative drinks as long as you come in with the freaking recipe.

I had someone order 4 secret menu drinks 2 mins before we closed. To make matters worse her mom was recording her ordering and I wasn't the exactly nicest.

For me, as long as they know the recipe, I’m fine making tiktok drinks. It’s a crappy time for everyone and if a silly drink makes someone’s day more enjoyable or tolerable I don’t don’t mind at all. I work with a lot of teenagers who talk about it and I find it entertaining. Anything to distract them from what’s going on is alright.

I’m the only one in my store who pays attention to TikTok so I have an idea of how to make these trending drinks. Luckily most of our costumers already come with the recipe but at this point if they don’t know it I just make something up on the spot, saves a lot of stress tbh. Also super cringe but I’ve been teaching my partners different TikTok dances. It’s a good laugh and great way just to have fun for two seconds during this time.
