Yesss. I legit have only said something when a barista gave me an iced peach green tea lemonade full of tea grounds.... like, no. We BOTH know that’s not standard, don’t get mad at me.

I will never order any of the crazy drinks I make for myself when I work no matter how good I think they are. I think I maybe ordered a creme base frapp with half peach infusion half milk like the lemon bar frapp once, but that is a simpler recipe that I didn't feel awful asking for since it is essentially a modified version of a drink that exists.

I used to feel *so* bad when I was going on my 10 or 30 and I marked out a drink and got asked to do something and another barista made my drink for me. Because if I was marking out you best believe it was some weird concoctionI had imagined up lmao

we have this shift who few people like (he's nice enough but takes foreeeever on closes, kinda slow on bar, generally a bit uppity about drinks) who has been coming in Every Damn Night within the hour of close to order an iced ristretto 8-shot espresso, 2 splenda, venti cup, ex nonfat. and I just. it feels like it takes sooo long for those shots to pull, drives me insane every night. certain drinks you should not make other baristas make for you, you know? and this just bugs me to no end lol

I’m pretty bummed. My store is closed so I’m not working and I have been mostly staying home but I went to get some prescriptions today and thought I would grab my coffee mark out and a drink while I was out. At 1:45 there was a pretty long line (I think more of our stores have closed recently). I wasn’t in a hurry but I just couldn’t bring myself to add to it even if I planned to drop a fat tip while I was there. I guess I’ll try another time.

Had a girl come thru drive the other day for a venti iced mocha, quad , half blonde half decaf, 3 mocha, 2 white mocha, 1 raspberry, upside down with the WHIP ON THE BOTTOM.

Because of annoying baristas coming into my drive thru, I gave myself rules. I stick to simple drinks (plain lattes/macchiatos) and I only get a food item that I know won’t kill their drive times. When my family makes me get them all something and I have a huge order, I order half at one store and drive to the other starbucks in town to get the other half. I just really try to be aware of what annoys me when I’m working and I make sure to avoid that. We should really be showing support and sympathy to each other, especially during stressful times like now!

Have this one skinny 5”0 even lady who comes in and usually gets:
A Venti Iced White Mocha, with 2 pumps White Mocha, 4 Splenda, nonfat, no whip, very VERY light ice, stirred well.
2 Reduced Fat Turkey Bacon Sandwiches
1 Order of Egg White Egg Bites
1 Order of Ham Cheddar Egg Bites
3 Ham and Swiss Paninis
Scary part is one of my shifts one time saw her in the parking lot shoveling it down like it expired in the next few minutes. It’s a drive through time killer.
A Venti Iced White Mocha, with 2 pumps White Mocha, 4 Splenda, nonfat, no whip, very VERY light ice, stirred well.

yeah when i order 2 drinks i make sure my drink is a hot/iced (no water) chai latte with soy so it's super simple to make ... because the second drink is usually a cloud...

I get that, and I’ve been that picky barista before and had a drink remade (they used dairy when I’m lactose intolerant) but right now, things are weird and stressful so I’m just doing my best to be nice to everyone and give my fellow baristas a break. I understand the feelings of frustration when you have baristas being annoying, but that “picky” drink might be their only pick me up during a difficult time. If you’re really that upset by everything, take your paid leave :-) i think we all deserve it.
I think someone mentioned cars full of annoying drinks - with all due respect, those baristas suck. Haven’t had any of those at my store!

This!! I took the paid leave and lately I've been running sooo low on money that I've been having to pick up my free sandwich and a drink some mornings. I always put all my energy into being as nice/simple as I can (ex: my drinks are usually just an iced matcha with soy or a strawberry acai lemonade without ice so I can make it last a few days) I can't help but to feel like a piece of shit while giving them my partner numbers and seeing 3-4 employees staring at me. I try to order the most simple items possible but it's posts like this that just make me feel even worse about having to take advantage of my benefits ://

You’re not taking advantage of your benefits, you’re entitled to use them and I’m glad you are. If they stare, stare back. I understand being annoyed sometimes but there’s no reason for them to make you feel ostracized

It makes me sad that so many people are having this experience. I took the leave, and I go through the drive thru at my store every morning. I love seeing my coworkers, and every day without fail they are happy to see me, they draw hearts on my cup, tell me they miss me. I tell them the same. It's my one social interaction of the day, it gives me a small piece of normalcy in these crazy times, and helps my anxiety. I'm so glad that I don't work with the kind of people who would look down on me for choosing to stay home with my kids. We all care about each other, and we are all looking forward to working together again. I wish all of you who get stared down or shamed for getting your markouts had the same experience I do. It makes such a difference.

I've only been to the Bux three times since I went on cat pay. I am not in my home state, I came to Iowa to help with my grandkids. I feel guilty going at all, keep my drink simple as possible, Starbucks Doubleshot on Ice without any of the mods I would do at my home store.
Today, I got four drinks, three for others who are working 'essential' jobs, but still feel like I get attitude for coming at all. I'm sad to feel unwelcome at certain stores.

I’m a very simple man. I just want my vanilla sweet cream cold brew how it comes. Unfortunately every time I go to a different store, they never put the vanilla syrup in it so I have to ask and I feel like one of those customers lol

Personally working through Covid19 and all this craziness it's really fun to see the same baristas come through at least once a day and a 30 dollar tab comes down to 5.30 when they get 5 specialized personalized extra nitpicky drinks (grande's in venti cups extra ice extra caramel this and that etc.)... and they arent even working when partners from their store are helping at your home store. 🙃

None of my own baristas from my store have the balls to do it... but there are alot of partners I know arent working. I can understand essential drinks. But all day?! And non essential drinks too... idk

I had a fellow partner (from some other store) get upset because her iced carmel macchiato wasn't mixed when she order it upside down. When i handed it off she looked at me funny and I explained that if you order it upside down you get it with the ingredients reversed. ugh
