If I want to take the cat pay should I finish my scheduled shifts or just dip out. I hate the idea of leaving more work for my colleagues but I also hate the idea of getting covid from the many non essentials who plague my existence(self.starbucksbaristas)

Funny thing about that, he's on cat pay as well although he is still doing some things at home

I would check becaus it flexible atm My store just move closing from 6pm to 3pm now because someone start their leave now. So I would say it flexible. Just check with your manager or who setting the schedule

If you do dip out, make sure to treat it the same as calling in sick, as soon as you can instead of last minute notify your manager.
Also, bravo on the "plague my existence" double entendre.

You just gotta ask yourself if three extra dollars an hour is worth the health risk.

Our manager shut down the whole store, but before that my immuno compromised friend dipped. She was a SM so it was a little different, a lot of schedules got switched around. Your store manager might be on CAT pay already, but you should have another store manager or district manager to rely on for info, do not let ANYONE guilt you into staying if you don't feel comfortable working. You have no obligation but your own health and safety, consider it that way. I do agree with another comment that said to treat it as a sick day and try to find coverage if possible but don't let that keep you from staying home.
Good luck and stay safe !!
