Returning partners (self.starbucksbaristas)

So..unpopular opinion here but I don't think that the partners that took the month off should get the extra $3 on their paychecks when they return before may 3rd. We have 2 that are coming back "early". Granted these are the same ones that took the time 2 minutes after it was announced they would still get paid. (side note they aren't the best partners in the world and are also roommates). Its just frustrating that some people just want the free ride and will still get the benefits.

How are they getting a free ride? There is still risk, they still deserve the benefits from taking that risk, no?

If you are so concerned about the risk then stay home the length of the approved time off. Don't come back early and still expect the same benefits and the ones that work thru get. I know that every case is different just like the example I gave in the orginal post. Thats where MY frustration is...

I completely understand what you mean but you have to look at it from corporates side. A lot of people are taking the cat pay making it hard for stores to run effectively. So they made the $3 increase to encourage people to come back so that way their stores and customers are still runny efficiently. My store is a very busy store and we lost 2/3 of our team because of it and it made the days so much stressful. So people coming back saved the store. And I had people that are terrible coworkers and only care for themselves bail as soon as the cat pay got announces. I only took it to protect my family from getting the virus

You honestly should’ve just kept this to yourself. Seems like you have something personal against those partners.

Hense the "unpopular opinion"... there is a back story to these partners so, yes there is some animosity towards them. Now they want to come back and harvest hours with the extra pay. But beyond that, it got me thinking that it really isn't fair to those of us that stuck it out.
