can i take off more than 30 days (unpaid) (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by manjari825
so i was working at a store near my college. had to move back in a hurry but that store was cafe and got shut down. transferred to a drive thru in my town. i took the 30 days- i'm 19, i'm a carrier and don't wanna get my family sick. i dont mind working and i thought it was what i wanted and i really wanted to keep my job for when i go back to college and just in general but my parents are diabetic and more prone to getting sick.

i dont mind being unpaid but am i allowed to ask for more time off/ a leave of absence? anyone know how this would work? i want to work but my parents really think they will get sick and since i live w them and dont want to get them sick i want to stay home. i dont want to quit tho :/

I’m in the same situation where I‘m nervous what would happen if cat pay doesn’t get extended past May 3rd. Before cat. pay was placed, our manager made a round of calls and texts asking if we’d like to stay home w/o pay, use sick/vacation PTO, or work at another drive thru since our cafe store was closed down, so I’m hoping we have those options post cat pay if it doesn’t get extended and the situation gets worse.
