What kind (and safe) gesture can I do for my local Starbucks workers to show my gratitude for their hard work during the pandemic? (self.starbucksbaristas)

You can never go wrong with a nice tip!

Well, I always tip. I wanted to do more. I’ve been seeing tiktoks and videos of people being the absolute worst and I honestly, just really appreciate them being open.

As a person with anxiety, this is a really crazy and hard time. Honestly, sometimes a latte is comforting enough to make my entire day better.

But yeah, I won’t forget that tip ;)

Came here to say that! Even digital! So no cash thru the app!

Tipping. Compliments. A smile. Staying home? Good review. Survey. Did I say tipping. Tell a joke. Idk, I’m just listing things that others or myself would appreciate. Today we wrote nice messages on all the sleeves, but only like 2 people out of maybe 50+ noticed it. 😒

You could make coffee at home instead of going to Starbucks.

Some of our regulars have picked up prepackaged, sealed food and dropped it off at our store. That seemed really nice.

Personally, I think we all love it when customers leave positive reviews mentioning names. It’s also really nice when customers leave gifts no matter what it is :) pre packaged food and snacks I guarantee everyone would like.

the nice tips have been really touching! other things I've appreciated have been just like. simple things like being extra nice, maybe talking to me about nice things going on in your life, being extra thankful, just don't say anything like "thank you for being open" or "I feel bad that you guys have to be here" since that can feel frustrating. also a couple of people have brought us flowers which is adorable and soooo sweet! it's lovely to have that touch of nature and happiness inside 💙

one of our regulars taped up a sign outside of our store (facing in so we could see it) saying the missed us and couldn’t wait to be back. we sanitized and put it in our back room :)

I really just like when customers talk to me genuinely like a friend. honestly one of my most impactful interactions was with a stranger while I was working, she just told me that she could see I was a really great person and told me id turn out fine. Was kind of weird but I broke down and hugged her because I was at a really rough place. Obviously that cant happen now, but I think a genuine connection would be really appreciated. But in a time like this when most people are feeling really anxious and scared, having someone recognize their problems but also their strengths can really help.

Write a nice card or something since you can not talk long in a drive through. But none of that "im so glad ur open" crap like someone else said, that makes a pretty resentful feeling. Just about their work ethic and how their good attitudes mean a lot to you. If you have a specific worker you really get along with maybe name them in the card too. You could combine this with the flower idea someone else had.

Tipping is huge. I hate to say it but with the sheer number of customers I see in a day even the ones who verbally thank me for being here all kinda blur together.

The other thing I’d add is if you could engage us in a conversation that IS NOT about COVID19 or the quarantine, I for one would be pleasantly surprised and grateful! It gets hella old when every general icebreaker I could use leads back to the coronavirus or the fact that this is the customer’s one social field trip for the day.

Drop us off some food

We’ve had a lot of customers bring us homemade masks! A lot better than the terrible coffee filter ones corporate had us make

Homemade masks.

I've seen people making masks for their employees. If you're nifty like that, I'm sure they'd appreciate some masks, as it's now mandatory store wide for employees to wear them. There have been a few circulating posts about some employees not having access to masks as they're out of stock everywhere.
