To everyone who is asking if you should take CAT pay, keep these things in mind and you’ll have your decision;
1. First of all be happy and feel lucky you have the choice of CAT pay, because some stores are CLOSED closed and those partners don’t have the option to be making $3 more p/h and some people have to find new jobs all together because their whole business shut down and can’t afford to pay employees anymore.
2. Does $3 extra an hour excite you? If you’re like me maybe you’re broke as fuck and risking your lungs for that pay bump is not even a question.
3. Do you or anyone you’re in regular contact with have a compromised immune system? If no chances are you probably got sick already and kicked it’s ass
If you can’t be grateful, if you don’t need the money, and/or if you’re risking your life or someone else’s... Take the CAT pay. 🤗

And I bet it weighs heavy on you if you should take CAT pay or not, but you’ll make the correct choice for yourself because only you can. 😊
Stay safe out there!

Making this much sense could be risky in these times. You reasonably presented both sides, and put the larger context in perspective. This sort of sanity will not be tolerated! /s

I should be locked away.
But hey at least I’ll still be getting paid.

This is a great post I just want to point out that no, chances are not that they already got sick and kicked its ass. Its not impossible, but its not as likely as you make it out to be, and even if it was until testing gets better we all have to treat it like Schroedingers (sp?) virus. Assume you havent had it and thus do not have immunity and also assume you already have it and thud could give it to someone else.
Okay, stepping off my soapbox. Seriously, good post.

Solid point!
Let’s not make any assumptions, and make sure to take all the precautions (masks, gloves, hand washing).
We all want the same thing here and that’s normalcy and unfortunately things have to get worse before they get better.

My whole store closed, I had the option to work at another store, I took the cat pay, my mom and I are both screwed with our health. I have RA and have been having flare ups being off work, and my mom has COPD and is 69 yo. The choice was easy for me with this and I have 2 children I have to think about, if I get sick who takes care of them? My husband is gone for 3+ weeks at a time.
