hi guys. i have wanted to work my way up the ladder and become a SM. is it worth it? when i think about being a SM it’s because i want to be able to help people, make people happy, and be the best i can be. i think it’s worth it but i don’t want to be wrong.

Is it worth it? only you can answer that question. I've seen people go from barista to SM in about 2 years. SMs tend to work at most about 20 hours per week on the floor. and anywhere from 20-30 hours per week doing all the administrative work to keep the store running. You're always on call in case something goes wrong, and it can be tricky to keep a healthy work-life balance.

it’s a ton of work for not a great salary compared to other jobs, but if you love it it’s probably worth it
