For people on Cat pay, do you think we will have to go back by the end of the month? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Sorry if it's been talked about. I haven't had much contact with my store; the last time was when I told them I would be taking the Cat pay. I just have anxiety about talking to my store right now tbh.

Does it look like the Cat pay will be over at the end of the month, or extended? What have you guys been hearing about it?

I’ve been told that CAT pay is only through May 3rd and that my cafe store is still set to open on May 4th. At the moment I don’t think there’s any update on wether or not any partners choosing to stay home after stores reopen will keep getting CAT pay. For now anyways. Anything could change

I was told the same thing. It will most likely change, cdc is not ready for people to o back to work

Ditto, and public transportation is down where I live, so I may have to file for unemployment. Its really starting to mess with me.

From what I've heard from my SM and DM, cafe only stores in select areas will be reopening on April 27th at the earliest or May 3rd at the latest.

Catastrophe pay will not be extended.

Partners who go back on the 27th will receive the extra $3 an hour.

The $3 pay for in-store partners and catastrophe pay for at-home partners ENDS on May 3rd.

I am furious and disgusted that corporate, in the midst of the worst of it, is reopening stores and just saying wear masks, don't let people in the cafe, good luck standing outside surrounded by people who won't be wearing masks or staying 6" let alone 6' away from you, BYE! Meanwhile, all of corporate and our DMs will be sitting at home with their feet up, not at all worried about getting sick or not having enough money for bills. Basically, not doing any work while we all put ourselves at risk. LOVELY.

and ya know what else? the CDC predicts another spike in may. so it’s so kind of corporate to give another space for it to spread some more.

in my college town, we’re just getting our first student cases bc college kids are “invincible”. i’m terrified of going back there, but i guess the store matters more than our health? idk. i’m frustrated. i get that they can’t extend cat pay for forever. but if states continue to stay shut down, then there’s no reason for us to be open.

thank you for coming to my ted talk.

My SM told us cat pay ends May 3rd. We can use sick pay or take a LOA if we do not feel safe coming back. I am in Florida.

I feel like they’ll extend the cat. pay because the virus isn’t getting any better. It makes sense for them to extend it another 2 weeks, my guess is that we’ll know by April 27.

They haven't announced that so far... They'll probably open stores that can work on a drive thru only and change the cat pay terms to only apply to stores that don't have a drive thru

My manager called to ask us IF the store reopens after May 3rd, would we be willing to go in. There is no guarantee that our store will be opening (we're in NYC) after May 3rd, nor did he say there is a guarantee of Cat pay after that. We have to wait and hear in these coming days.

My district is reopening all stores by may 4th. everyone is being given the choice to come back to work, or use up sick and vacation time, or take a leave of absence, or quit.
