My store is closing after Sunday, because so many partners have taken leave. I’m sad mainly because I’m moving to Buffalo to finish my bachelors and now I’ll be at a different store for the next two weeks. I do love my fellow partners at my store. To top things off, all Buffalo stores are closed. My SM told me they can approve my transfer and if the stores don’t reopen on May 4th, cat pay will probably be extended and I’ll just be forced to take it.
Any reason I shouldn’t trust this? I’m so excited to move and I really like the store I want to transfer to!

Im actually a partner in Buffalo rn and yeah our catastrophe pay currently goes fully May 3rd. Only 2 stores in the entirety of the Buffalo area are currently open, so all willing partners are working in either of the two. My SM said we have a handful of partners who will be taking L.O.A after the 3rd but their positions aren't compromised in the slightest.

That’s good to know! I’ve been working this whole time and I’m hoping my transfer goes through. I’m torn personally on whether cafes open up on 5/4, but the store I want to transfer to is cafe only. It’s the Elmwood Village location. I’m transferring to Buff State to finish my degree. A decent amount of partners in my area took the leave, but we’ve got a lot of stores, so lots more partners stayed on. Stay safe!

Oohhhh I love Elmwood it's a great store it should be accepting in all postions, they sre closed until the 4th currently however there is a cafe store open in buffalo rn. Buffalos a big drive store area but theres about 4 cafes left!
The DM is kinda new i think but great guy and the SMs are all connected and still pretty active

You could also just DM with questions in regards to which stores are open and which stores are cafe/drive or looking for baristas/shifts

I’d see what your be DM says about closing. My area it seems unlikely that we will completely close but I’ve heard rumors here and there. It’s all up in the air.

In my area, just cafe stores have closed really. My SM doesn’t have enough people to borrow from other stores and would be working us all seven days a week to support the store at this rate, with all our partners leaving. In regards to the Buffalo stores being closed, my DM said he’s gonna call their DM to finalize my transfer, but none of them know what’s happening come 5/4 yet! My SM and I both are guessing the Buffalo stores must have had a lot of students and such that had to leave and they just shut down way before everyone else.
