I worked at Starbucks for about 3 years . This was at multiple locations, about 4. . In my last location I got fired because I didn’t “smile enough” and that was considered being “rude” to the customers. I have resting bitch face ..... like the muscles in my face lay in a way that make me look mad even when I’m not . My regular everyday face when I’m not intentionally trying to make an expression just looks mad . It is unrealistic to expect someone to be smiling 24.7

The point is , I was trying to get a second job at Starbucks since I know everything and for some reason wherever I apply I never get hired . My application is always overlooked despite my countless years of experience . Does this have something to do with maybe my previous manager black listing me on the Starbucks hiring accounts ??? If that’s even a thing

Yes you can be marked as non rehirable. I would suggest calling a store asking for the manager ask if she is looking for more workers and go in and talk to them personally. I had a friend 7 years ago she and I worked together same thing happened. She just went in and explain the situation and now she works at Starbucks again. People are looking for more workers right now especially because a lot of people don’t want to work during this. So def try calling the stores that are open near you.

Maybe getting fired has to do with it, you have to RAMP the pep up in your interview. Maybe even talk about being fired from your previous location, even saying, I want to be upfront because you can check my job history - I was fired from my previous location because I wasn’t growing as a barista and customer connecting how I could’ve been. I’ve learned from my mistake, and really love working with people, and would be honored to work at Starbucks again. But honestly, smiling is a part of the job. If you aren’t willing to fake it till the cows come home, and truly grow from your last experience, maybe try for a different coffee company that isn’t so focused on that happy aspect. I don’t know how the situation was at your last store but each Starbucks expects a degree of peppiness from its baristas and honestly if you aren’t actually enjoying it there and having fun, it can become taxing.
