The siren kills (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Brieee223
I left Starbucks for another job around Thanksgiving, my other job closed due to covid so my manager reaches out to me and asks if I would come back (incentive pay). I find out she never terminated me, I work 30 hours with no gloves, no masks, customers who will sit in a 30 minute line and then come up to the window to complain about how long the line is. Friday comes..and I receive no money. Why? My manager never fired me from months ago and my health insurance, which has not been active, has taken all my money. Manager, district manager, and insurance worker all told me i won't be getting my money back. They also told me I can't get cat pay because I have not been working. Getting fucked by Starbucks once again.

I recommend contacting PCC and explaining the situation. It is illegal for an employer to withhold wages for any reason given that you had been inactive for so long your benefits should have been cancelled. When they ask if you’ve reached out to your SM and DM indicate that they refused to try to help you. “you won’t get your money back” is very inappropriate. Good luck man, do you need the PCC number?

This story doesn’t add up in a multitude of ways. If any part of it is true call PRSC and/or ethics and compliance. They will take care of you.

Something here isn't adding up.
They are legally required to pay you money for hours that you worked.

I'd call ethics and compliance.

They did pay me, but since I haven't worked for moths the heath insurance that I did have just took out what was 'owed to them' since I was not terminated. PCC told me there was nothing they could do to get that paycheck back. After a second call to them, they said I could receive 1.5 hours of cat pay 🙃 18.75
