Hey all, music question (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by IntoxicatingDream
Hiii,

I know that lately (past few months) the official Starbucks playlists on the iPod have included some (colorful? Does it make me stodgy to call them "inappropriate?") songs. Like the explicit versions of Cardi B's I like it, Tyga's Taste, and a couple of Post Malone songs. I'm looking for more examples on the iPod off the tops of your heads. Anything that has explicit or somewhat uncomfortable lyrics.

I hope all of you are well, or as well as can be expected in this tumultuous time. <3

Honestly, I don't hear much of the music. I tune most of it out because frankly I don't like 90% of the playlists. Im not an "indie/coffeehouse/jazz/whatever this nonsense is" fan. So I would actually enjoy having "pop-ish" music for once. To answer your question, Ive never heard those songs come over the speakers. Most of ours is the aforementioned indie-folk, or jazz.

Im having the opposite thing at my store where there is more pop than I’m familiar with and I’m into indie/jazz. It’s a weird adjustment.

We have a lot of that playing at the store too, though I am so far from pop culture that all I know is a single post malone song.... but they play raunchier shit later on In the day like after 2 or 3 on a speaker. I feel like the music leniency on the ipod is a little odd. Hopefully it's fixed by the time the lobby (unfortunately) opens so we dont get yelled at for that too.
