hi! i used to work at a tarbucks and have been looking for about a month for a starbucks to apply to. i’ve applied many times on taleo.net in response to local starbucks putting job listings online but have not gotten any responses. is there anything i can do right now to check my application status/improve my chances? thank you!

I would wait until your local area “opens” things back up. Right now, so many stores are closed and many people are on leave and my store has an influx of workers from other stores who are involuntarily on Catastrophe pay

taleo.net is part of the starbucks careers ! i guess i was just wondering if it would be effective to call the stores right now/go to them for an update on my application, or if that is less than desirable right now due to COVID-19

More than likely the coronavirus is making it a bad time to ask about applications at most locations. Remember right now tons of locations are closed. Open locations likely are running on a mixture of employees from different stores until things get settled back to normal. I’d say wait at least until the beginning of May to try to ask. At least at that point, lots of locations will be opening back up.

I applied to quite a few Starbucks locations before getting a job. I applied to maybe 6 locations and no one called me. It was only when I went into the store and asked to speak to the hiring manager that I got interviewed. Since you probably can't go inside the stores rn, maybe giving a call and asking for the hiring manager is the best strategy. It may put you ahead of the competition. Best of luck.
