using sick time after cat pay ends? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Anybody know if we’ll be able to use the sick time we’ve accumulated if we aren’t comfortable going back to work in early May?

My SM told us in our group chat that if we don’t feel comfortable returning we can “use sick or vacation time to stay out of work” so it’s probably something you need to discuss with your SM since it varies by store

I called Sedgwick, which is our benefits people, and they told me I would qualify for catastrophe pay (staying home longer tho) because of my autoimmune disease. If you don’t feel safe going back so soon, it’s you’re right not to, but it’s also good to know what benefits you may receive. This is the number I called: 1 (866) 206-6769.

Sick time is not allowed, only vacation time.

Most likely it will have to be vacation time, not sick time. I’m sure they will be strict about showing a doctor’s note for sick time now.
