Not from a cafe store, but here are some traits of a “good barista” personally to me: introduces themselves/learns names, matches the culture of the store they’re transferring to (don’t be a hard ass if everyone is super lax), and they ask HOW they can help when they don’t know.

My cafe store has had a lot of baristas transfer in from meh stores. Being friendly to all of your partners, enthusiastic, those are things that stand out to me. Anyone who really feels like they live by Starbucks' values and believe in the third place.
